CAD Level 2

Level two is a set of 4 exercises based on a pentatonic scale which has only 5 notes. The finger pattern is a bit trickier than level one because some fingers or keys have to be left out. The first tune, Cavern River, is slow with lots of room to explore the key. The second, Oh Suzanna, is quicker with shorter spaces built in and a contrasting middle section. It quotes the folk song it is named after. The third, Chinese, is like the second only faster and in the style of a Chinese folk song. The final exercise turns the pentatonic scale into a Blues scale, sharing the same pitches as the pentatonic scale. This makes the transition into the 12 Bar Blues progression simple and fun!
